Gypsum board protective paperboard refers to the paperboard that covers both sides of the gypsum core during the production of paper faced gypsum board and can firmly bond with the gypsum core material. It is a key material for producing paper faced gypsum board. It covers both sides of the gypsum core and firmly adheres to the gypsum, endowing the board with strength and surface quality. Its main function is to enhance, protect, and provide a flat decorative foundation. It is mainly made from waste paper through pulp and paper making processes, with a weight usually between 130-210 g/m². It has high tensile strength, good breathability and adhesion, and can meet the requirements of gypsum board forming, drying and use. This paper is mainly used for the manufacturing of various types of paper faced gypsum boards such as ordinary, waterproof, and fireproof. The common roll width is around 1225-1295 mm on the front and 850 mm on the back.

Raw Materials and Processes

Raw materials:Plant fibers are mainly used, and currently waste paper (such as used newspapers and cardboard) is widely used as the main raw material. Resource recycling is achieved through processes such as de ink pulp and OCC pulp.

Process:The production process is mainly divided into three sections: material preparation, pulp making, and papermaking. After crushing, screening, de ink, and pulping waste paper raw materials, finished paper is produced through processes such as copying, pressing, drying, and surface sizing.

Main Features

High strength: It has high tensile strength and can withstand the stretching and forming process of gypsum board production lines.

Good breathability: Provides a channel for a large amount of water vapor evaporation during gypsum board drying, which helps improve production efficiency.

Thermal permeability resistance: In the production process of gypsum board, it can maintain the wet strength of the paper, which helps to control the shaping, cutting and other processes.

Good adhesion: With high surface strength, it can firmly adhere to gypsum core material and effectively control the paper delamination of gypsum board.
